LG Stylo 3 Plus MetroPCS MP450 & T-Mobile TP450 has got a few useful dialer codes which when dialed reveal a Secret Menu. The most significant secret menu is the “Hidden Menu”.
It has got an extensive list of options that can bring changes to system-level settings. The hidden menu also allows us to test Wifi, Bluetooth, GPS, etc & can be used for troubleshooting purposes.
Let’s explore all the Stylo 3 Plus dialer codes starting with the Hidden Menu.
1. LG Stylo 3 Plus Dialer Code to Enter the Hidden Menu
Open the phone dialer and dial 277634#*#
As soon as you would dial the last character i.e # the Hidden Menu will open.
The above screenshot shows a complete list of options under the hidden menu. Let’s check out a few of them in the following screenshots.
Watch the above video to explore every available option in the Hidden Menu.
LG Stylo 3 Plus Hidden Menu – Version Info
The Version Info gives us the current Software Version, Firmware Version, Kernel Version, Baseband Version, Hardware Version, Factory Version as well as the Anti-rollback Version.
As you can see the Anti-rollback version is 0, this means the current firmware can be downgraded. If it’s 1, then rolling back to the previous/lower version is not possible.
LG Stylo 3 Plus Hidden Menu – Bluetooth Test
As visible in the screenshot above, BT stands for Bluetooth Test.
The first option BT_Test asks for a “Service Code Input”. It is meant for LG Service technicians and should not be messed with.
The next option under Bluetooth Test is Bluetooth FCC.
Now I’m not sure if this FCC stands for Federal Communications Commission or something else. It has got various testing parameters that I can hardly deduce.
LG Stylo 3 Plus Hidden Menu – Wifi Test
The next option in the list is the “Wifi Test”.
Under Wifi Test, “Net Info” reveals the network information of the connected wifi network.
The next option under the Wifi test is the FTM test.
FTM either stands for Field Test Mode or Fine Timing Measurement. We can set the testing parameters and start the FTM test as shown above.
The next option is “OTA Settings”. Using this we can Enable or Disable OTA (over the air) software updates.
I can be very helpful in preserving data when you’re reluctant to update the current Android software.
Wifi Debug screen gives detailed information on the connected Wifi network which can prove useful for Wifi debugging.
LG Stylo 3 Plus Hidden Menu – GPS Test
After the Wifi Test, comes GPS Test as visible in the screenshot above.
The first test under GPS is the GNSS test, where GNSS stands for the Global Navigation Satellite System.
The next test under GPS is GNSS Positioning Test.
Change the location mode from Battery Saving to normal mode before performing this test.
The last GPS test is Air Test. We need to turn ON GPS to perform this test.
You should perform any of these tests only in case you’re facing some issues with GPS on your Stylo 3 Plus.
LG Stylo 3 Plus Hidden Menu – Network Mode Selection (RAT_Selection)
The next significant option after the GPS test is RAT_Selection.
It is nothing but Network Mode selection. Using this we can switch between 2G, 3G, and 4G LTE networks.
LG Stylo 3 Plus Hidden Menu – Engineering Mode
After RAT_Selection comes Engineering Mode.
It is related to cellular network testing and should not be messed with.
LG Stylo 3 Plus Hidden Menu – Battery Status
Battery Status gives us a detailed battery report including its health, voltage, and temperature as visible in the screenshot above.
LG Stylo 3 Plus Hidden Menu – Unlock APN
APN Unlock option can be useful for GSM + CDMA phones from LG wherein the APN is locked and cannot be modified.
LG Stylo 3 Plus Hidden Menu – Add Volte Test APN
“ADD Volte Test APN” can be useful in troubleshooting data related issues when using Volte for the internet.
LG Stylo 3 Plus Hidden Menu – IMS Setting
Few LG users have faced error message “LG IMS has stopped working”.
The solution is to change the IP version from default IPV6V4 to IPV4V6 under “IMS Setting”.
LG Stylo 3 Plus Hidden Menu – LTE Data Test
The next is the LTE Data Test.
I can be useful in troubleshooting issues related to LTE data connectivity.
LG Stylo 3 Plus Hidden Menu – Benchmark Enable
The “Benchmark Enable” option is disabled by default and can be checked to turn ON as visible in the screenshot above.
LG Stylo 3 Plus Hidden Menu – Port Check Test
Port check Test needs turning ON to enable Diagnostic Mode.
Diag mode is usually needed for programming CDMA phones.
LG Stylo 3 Plus Hidden Menu – Charging Mode On/Off
I haven’t tried to disable the charging mode to the OFF position. Maybe it disables USB charging when connected to a computer.
2. LG Stylo 3 Plus Dialer Code to Enter “Phone Testing Menu”
Move on to Next Page (Page 2)
I have the MP450 as well as the TP 450. Now both are rooted, and I installed an app I purchased back when I had Samsung devices…Phone Info + …. It shows dialer codes that normal hidden menu dialers don’t show… Like this one called United Debug Tool. Or the LPP runtime editor…these are some of the most revealing and can be dangerous to alter if a person doesn’t know what they are doing. Perhaps you could shed some light on these for us??? I especially am curious about the United Debug Tool and the password required to access that APN settings in that area
What program or app did you use to root your mp450?
