LG Stylo 4 / 5 Fortnite – Can LG Stylo 4 & 5 Play Fortnite?

There are 4 different variants of Stylo 4 & 5 which are Stylo 4, Stylo 4 Plus, Stylo 5 & Stylo 5 Plus. Even though the RAM varies between them (2GB & 3GB), they share the same processor i.e Qualcomm Snapdragon 1.8 GHz Octa-Core Processor. (Except for Sprint/Boost Mobile variant which uses a 1.5 GHz Octa-Core Mediatek Processor).

The minimum recommended Android System requirements for Fortnite are 64-bit OS, Android Oreo (or higher) & 4GB RAM.

Out of the 3 requirements, Stylo 4 & 5 are unable to fulfill 2 of these. They do have Android Oreo (Stylo 4) & Pie (Stylo 5), but the maximum RAM in any of the Stylo 4 / 5 variant is 3 GB only. Moreover, they all have a 32-bit kernel architecture (ARMv7l). So, the chances are bleak that Fortnite would work on Stylo 4 / 4 Plus / Stylo 5 or Stylo 5 Plus.

Still, Let’s check out if we can play Fortnite on Stylo 4 / 5 or not.

Can LG Stylo 4 & Stylo 5 Play Fortnite?

Let’s try to download and install the Fortnite app on LG Stylo 4 / 5.

I’ve used the Chrome browser to download the apk file from the official Fortnite website i.e epicgames.com

After downloading the installer file, Let’s install it.

As it’s a 3rd party app we’ve to give permission to install apps from unknown sources using the chrome browser.

As expected, LG Stylo 4  & Stylo 5 are not compatible with Fortnite. At least the official version is incompatible. Let’s try to install the modded Fortnite apk.

LG Stylo 4 / 5 Fortnite Modded apk Installation

I got this modded Fortnite apk file from xda forums. The minimum Android system requirements for the modded version is – ARM64 device (arm64-v8a) with Open GL 3 and above.

Unfortunately, Stylo 4 & 5  have armv7l kernel architecture as visible in the screenshot above. This is a 32-bit architecture and thus makes Stylo 4 / 5 incompatible with the modded version of Fortnite as well.

I was not even able to install this modded apk file.  It simply says “App not Installed” as shown in the above video.

The OpenGL version is 3.2 but it won’t matter as we cannot root and install a  64-bit Lineage OS Custom ROM on Stylo 4 or 5. Both the Stylo variants have a locked bootloader with no way to unlock it as of now. Thus, no chance of rooting or installing a Custom ROM.

On LG K20 Plus, I was able to install the modded Fortnite app using Lineage OS custom ROM (64-bit), but it failed in the Graphics department. The OpenGL version on K20 Plus is 2.1

How to unlock LG Stylo 4 & 5 for free-MetroPCS, Boost Mobile Q710AL

LG Stylo 4 & Stylo 5 are available with almost all the major US carriers. The most popular variants Stylo 4 & 5 are the factory unlocked version with model numbers Q710ULM & LMQ720QMA respectively. With the unlocked variant, you can use any GSM or CDMA SIM from AT&T, T-Mobile, Verizon, Sprint, etc.

However, the other variants of Stylo 4 / 5  are locked such as LG Stylo 4 MetroPCS Q710MS, Boost Mobile Q710AL, T-Mobile Q710TS, Cricket Wireless Q710CS, Tracfone L713DL. There’s also a slightly upgraded water-resistant LG Stylo 4 Plus model which is available with Boost Mobile & AT&T with model numbers Q710PL & Q710WA respectively.

The locked LG Stylo 5 Models are MetroPCS LMQ720MS, T-Mobile LMQ720TSW, Boost Mobile / Sprint LMQ720PS, AT&T LMQ720AM (LG Stylo 5 Plus), Cricket Q720CS, Verizon LMq720VSP, Tracfone / Straight Talk LGL22DL & Xfinity Mobile LMQ720QMS

Now with so many variants of LG Stylo 4 & 5, the unlocking procedure varies from carrier to carrier. In this post, we’re going to find out how to unlock LG Stylo 4 / Stylo 5 for free. I’ve unlocked mine for free. We’re going to deal with each variant of Stylo 4 & 5 one by one starting with the  MetroPCS variant.

How to Unlock LG Stylo 4 / 5 MetroPCS Free – LM-Q710MS/LMQ720MS

To unlock a MetroPCS or T-Mobile Stylo 4 /5 we’ve to use the pre-installed device unlock app. I bought a new Stylo 4 from eBay a few months ago and using the below procedure I was able to unlock it without spending a single penny. Try out the procedure it may work for you as well.

Look for the “MetroPCS” folder on your Stylo 4 /5  Homescreen as visible in the first screenshot above.

Open the “MetroPCS” folder and tap “Device Unlock”

Accept the app permission by hitting “ALLOW”

The “device unlock” app says the device is network locked which prevents it from operating with other compatible wireless networks. Let’s try to unlock it.

Select “CONTINUE” to proceed further.

Make sure that you’re connected to the internet via Wifi or Mobile Data.

It’s connecting to the server we’ve to wait for a few moments.

Now, you’ll see the “Permanent Unlock” option on the screen.

Click on it to start unlocking.

Now, it’s checking whether my phone is eligible for free unlocking or not.

It’s good news! The unlock is approved with the message –

“Unlock Approved: Mobile device is permanently unlocked”. We’ve to Restart the phone to use a SIM card from another carrier.

After the restart, the “Device Unlock” app is gone from the MetroPCS folder as we don’t need it anymore.

The Stylo 4 is permanently unlocked and it’ll never re-lock again.

Now, you can use a SIM card from any GSM carrier worldwide with your Stylo 4 Q710MS/ Stylo 5 Q720MS. You won’t be able to use it on Verizon or Sprint network as they use CDMA technology.

If the above method didn’t work for you then you can purchase the LG Stylo 4 /5 MetroPCS device unlock service. It’ll cost you around $35 which is quite high but the only other way is to wait for 6 months after activating MetroPCS service and then retry to unlock using the above procedure.

Make sure not to buy any unlock code for Stylo 4 / 5 MetroPCS as the only way to unlock a MetroPCS / T-Mobile phone is via device unlock app. Even if you’ll buy an unlock code you cannot enter it anywhere.

How to Unlock T-Mobile LG Stylo 4 LM-Q710TS & Stylo 5 LM-Q720TSW

T-Mobile Stylo 4 / 5 uses the same Device Unlock app we used to unlock the MetroPCS phone. Use the same procedure to unlock your Q710TS or Q720TSW.

A prepaid T-Mobile phone becomes unlock capable after serving a period of 1 year and for Postpaid its just 40 days.

If you’ve failed to unlock your phone using the device unlock app you need to buy the LG Stylo 4 /5 T-Mobile App Unlock Service. It a permanent unlock service but quite costly at around $30-$35.

Similar to MetroPCS, an unlock code can never unlock your Stylo 4 T-Mobile, so don’t waste your money in buying fake unlock codes.

How to Unlock LG Stylo 4/Stylo 4 Plus/Stylo 5 Boost Mobile – Q710AL/Q710PL/LMQ720PS

Boost Stylo 4 / Stylo 4 Plus / Stylo 5  is a CDMA + GSM device. Boost is a Sprint MVNO, and after unlocking you can use it various CDMA as well as GSM carriers worldwide. However, Boost unlocks your device for free after serving a period of 12 months which is a long period.

Similar to MetroPCS, Boost Mobile Stylo 4 & Stylo 5, cannot be unlocked using an Unlock Code. You can either purchase a remote unlock service to unlock your Boost Stylo 4/5 or can use your Stylo 4 / 4 Plus/ 5 on the Boost network for a 1 year period.

For remote unlocking, you need to install Teamviewer on your computer and the seller would unlock it remotely. It costs around $5-10.

The drawback of remote unlocking service is that it’s not a permanent unlock. In the future, a security update can re-lock your phone. A hardware device such as Octopus Box uses an exploit to unlock the phone temporarily until its fixed in a system update.

How to Unlock LG Stylo 4 Plus/ Stylo 5 Plus AT&T – Q710WA / LMQ720AM

LG Stylo 4 Plus / Stylo 5 Plus from AT&T can be unlocked using an unlock code. You have to use AT&T service for at least 2 months on your Q710WA to unlock your device for free.

You can check whether your device is capable of unlocking or not using the official AT&T website att.com/deviceunlock

After getting the unlock code from AT&T enter a non-AT&T SIM in your Q710WA. You’ll be prompted to enter the unlock code. Enter the code correctly and submit it. The device will reboot and it will be unlocked permanently.

After unlocking your Stylo 4 Plus / 5 Plus you can use it with other GSM carriers such as T-Mobile, MetroPCS, Tracfone, etc. You cannot use it with Sprint, Verizon and other CDMA networks.

If you’ve failed to unlock your Stylo 4 Plus / 5 Plus AT&T for free, you can buy the unlock code from here.

How to Unlock LG Stylo 4 & 5 Cricket Wireless – Q710CS / Q720CS

At one time, Cricket was a CDMA carrier and now it’s taken over by AT&T. It’s an AT&T MVNO (Mobile Virtual Network Operator) that offers prepaid GSM phones.

A cricket Stylo 4 / 5 can be unlocked for free after serving a period of 6 months period on cricket network. After which you can call cricket customer care to obtain your Q710CS / Q720CS unlock code.

If you wish to unlock it somewhat earlier, you can buy the LG Stylo 4 /Stylo 5 Cricket Unlock Code from here.

How to Unlock LG Stylo 4 / 5 Tracfone / Straight Talk – L713DL / L722DL

A Straight Talk or TracFone LG Stylo 4 /5 is the most difficult to unlock. You may get a Tracfone/Straight Talk device for less along with the cheapest plan in the vicinity, but if you wish to leave the carrier you need to buy another phone as no one can unlock it other than the carrier itself.

There is no paid solution to unlock a Stylo 4 / 5  belonging to Tracfone / Straight Talk. The only way to unlock your handset is by serving 1 year service period with Tracfone without a gap else the counting starts again from the beginning.

How to Unlock LG Stylo 5 Verizon – LMQ720VSP

LG Stylo 4 is not available with Verizon. However, it has recently launched the Stylo 5 variant with model number LMQ720VSP.

Your LG Stylo 5 Verizon will be automatically unlocked for free after activating and using it for 2 months on the Verizon network.

Without activation, you can unlock it by purchasing the unlock code. You can buy LG Stylo 5 Verizon Unlock Code from here.

Were you able to unlock your LG Stylo 4 / 4 plus / 5 / 5 Plus? Did you pay for it or was able to unlock it for free? Please share your opinion using the comment section below. Feedback is welcome.

LG Stylo 3 Plus Custom ROM – Lineage OS, AOKP, AICP, RR & Incipient OS Installation Guide + Review

As of now, there are 5 Custom ROMs for LG Stylo 3 Plus which are Lineage OS, Resurrection Remix, AOKP, AICP, and Incipient OS.

In this post, we’re going to install and test each of these to check out which one is a stable ROM and can be used as a daily driver.

Out of these, the most popular is the Lineage OS. Rest of the Custom ROMs are based on Lineage OS itself with added features and customizations.

Let’s check out how to install Lineage OS custom ROM on Stylo 3 Plus and what extra features we get as compared to LG stock ROM.

NOTE: Before moving further make sure that you’ve installed TWRP Custom Recovery on your Stylo 3 Plus.  For Lineage OS, AICP & Resurrection Remix, 32-bit TWRP is required. However, for AOKP and Incipient OS, 64-bit TWRP needs to be installed.

How to Install Lineage OS Custom ROM on LG Stylo 3 Plus MetroPCS MP450 / T Mobile TP450

After CyanogenMod, Lineage OS is the most preferred custom ROM. It gives stock vanilla Android experience. It is lighter, faster and free from bloatware as compared to LG preloaded ROM.

LG Stylo 3 plus is the not in the official list of Lineage OS supported devices. As its an unofficial port, some of the features are not working. I found that NFC keeps on turning on and off on its own and doesn’t work. VoLTE doesn’t work as well.

If these features are a deal breaker for you, Lineage OS cannot be your daily driver. But at least you can give it a try to get a feel of it.

We can divide the whole process into 3 steps for ease of understanding  –

STEP 1:  Creating a Backup in TWRP & Flashing Lineage OS 14.1 Custom ROM

Let’s start by downloading the necessary files needed for flashing.

1.Lineage OS Custom ROM zip File –  Thanks to messi2050@xda for making Lineage OS custom ROM for Stylo 3 Plus. You can download the zip file from below link

2. Google Apps Package zip file for Android 7.1 – You can download this file from http://opengapps.org, by choosing “Platform” as ARM, Android Version As 7.1 & Variant would be as per your requirement.  You can also download it from the below link. The below one is a very basic Google Apps (Pico) Package –

3. Magisk Root zip file & Magisk Manager apk file – The zip file should be flashed in TWRP & the apk file must be installed after booting into Lineage OS. The download links are as follows

Magisk.zip – DOWNLOAD

LG Stylo 3 Manual PDF – MetroPCS, Cricket, Boost Mobile, Straight Talk etc

User Manual is not a part of the package anymore as it only increases the size and weight of the cell phone box. After all, a User guide can be downloaded quite easily on the phone itself in the form of PDF, as and when required. Who is going to carry the hard copy along with the cell phone everywhere?

If we talk about LG Stylo 3, it’s available with almost every prepaid carrier in the USA for every variant there is a different manual. I’ve collected all the User Guides at one place for each and every variant of Stylo 3 in PDF form. It’s available for download in English & Spanish Language. Go ahead and download your respective copy from the below download link –

LG Stylo 3 Plus Manual MetroPCS MP450

LG Stylo 3 Plus MetroPCS User Manual

LG Stylo 3 Plus is a slightly upgraded model than rest of the Stylo 3 variants. It comes with a Full HD 1980 x 1080p resolution display as compared to HD display (1280x720p) on Stylo 3.

Stylo 3 Plus also comes with double the internal storage capacity with respect to Stylo 3.  Stylo 3 Plus has 32GB of internal memory.

The final plus point is that Stylo 3 Plus supports NFC (Android pay) which is missing from all other variants of LG Stylo 3.

The battery capacity is however reduced to 3080 mAh as opposed to 3200 mAh battery on Stylo 3.

You can download the MetroPCS Stylo 3 Plus user manual from the below download link. The first link is for English Manual and the second link is for Spanish User Guide.

The Stylo 3 from Boost Mobile, Sprint & Virgin are essentially the same, but their respective user manuals are available for download. So if different user manuals are available then it’s better to get the one which belongs to your carrier.

How to unlock LG Stylo 3 for free – MetroPCS, T-Mobile, Boost, Straight Talk

I got my LG Stylo 3 Plus MetroPCS unlocked for free without using any unlock code or unlock tool. Beware of websites who sell fake unlock tools with a claim to unlock your phone.

LG Stylo 3 is sold by almost every prepaid carrier in the USA including MetroPCS, T-Mobile, Cricket, Boost, Straight Talk etc. The method of unlocking varies for each and every carrier.

For example, none of the Stylo 3 variants can be unlocked with an unlock code except, Cricket. Prepaid phones of MetroPCS/T-Mobile have a device unlock app pre-installed through which I got my Stylo 3 plus unlocked.

Let’s check out the unlocking procedure for MetroPCS / T-Mobile and later on we would find out ways of unlocking Stylo 3 by Boost Mobile, Cricket & Straight Talk.

How to unlock LG Stylo 3 Plus MetroPCS / T-Mobile via Device Unlock App

I purchased a New LG Stylo 3 Plus MetroPCS MP450 from eBay and following the below procedure I was able to unlock it for free. You can give it a try if it doesn’t work then there is a paid solution to get your phone unlocked.

On your LG Stylo 3 Plus Home Screen, look for “MetroPCS” and open it.

Now click on “Device Unlock” to run it.

Tap on “ALLOW” to accept the app permission request

Now, Tap on continue to proceed with the unlocking.

The app would connect to the server so it would require a data connection. Wifi is fine, cellular data is not mandatory.

Finally, click “Permanent Unlock” to permanently unlock your Stylo 3 Plus for all the GSM networks worldwide.

You can see, my unlock request got approved and after this only a Restart is needed to use the Stylo 3 Plus with other GSM carriers such as AT&T, Cricket, Straight Talk etc

If the above method doesn’t work for you, then you need to purchase LG Stylo 3 Plus MetroPCS/T-Mobile remote unlock service from eBay it starts from around $14 as of now.

LG Stlyo 3 Plus Root Android 7 MetroPCS & T-Mobile Tutorial

Gone are the days when we used to root our phones in one click with an android apk file without using a computer.  Kingroot was a popular rooting app until Android Lollipop. However, today most of the phones cannot be rooted even using a computer.

Even if we talk about LG Stylo 3, it is released by almost every US prepaid carrier including Boost Mobile, Cricket, Straight Talk, Tracfone, MetroPCS, T-Mobile etc.  However, except MetroPCS/T-Mobile all other variants of Stylo 3 are unrootable due to the locked bootloader. Correct me if I’m wrong. As I own MetroPCS variant of Stylo 3 I was able to root it quite easily.

Let’s check out how to root LG Stylo 3 Plus with the help of this easy to follow tutorial –

How to Root LG Stylo 3 Plus MetroPCS MP450 / T-Mobile TP450

The pre-requisites for rooting LG Stylo 3 Plus are –

  1. Unlocking the Bootloader
  2. Flashing TWRP Custom Recovery

Now that you’ve flashed TWRP we are good to go.

First of all, Let’s download the necessary files required for rooting –

SuperSU – The classic superuser root app by Chainfire. You can download its flashable zip file from the below link

Magisk – A more advanced rooting app made by topjohnwu. It’s a systemless root which can work in hidden mode without affecting apps which don’t work on a rooted phone such as banking app. Download its flashable zip file from below link.

Magisk Manager – We’ve to install this apk file manually after flashing the above zip file in TWRP. Download the apk file from below link.

Remember that we’re going to flash either SuperSu or Magisk. We cannot keep both at the same time. Now, Let’s start the rooting process.

We can divide the whole process into 3 steps for the ease of understanding –

STEP 1: Making a NANDroid Backup in TWRP

First of all, we’ve to boot into recovery mode to access TWRP –

To enter recovery mode –

Turn off the Phone

Press Volume Down + Power Button to boot the phone. Once the phone vibrates, release the power button and hold it until you’re the white “Factory data reset” screen as shown below.

Press volume down key to move from No(Exit) to Yes. Now press power key to confirm this action

Once again press the volume down key and confirm with Power key.

Press the power key once again to bypass unlocked bootloader warning

Now, wait for TWRP to load as shown above.

Tap on “BACKUP” and select the files you wish to include in your backup

Now click on “Select Storage” and choose whether you wish to store the backup in Internal Storage or Micro SD card.

Swipe the bar towards the right to initiate the backup process

Wait for the Backup to complete.

Once done, connect your phone to PC via USB Data Cable.

STEP 2 :  Flashing the Magisk.zip Root File via TWRP

Wait for the MTP / File Transfer driver to install.

As the TWRP is written for a different LG phone model it’s detected as LGMS550.

The driver is installed and now we can transfer the necessary files to our phone’s internal storage.

Select the downloaded files and “Send to” “LGMS550” as shown above.

TWRP LG Stylo 3 Plus Custom Recovery Flashing Tutorial – MetroPCS / T-Mobile

After unlocking the bootloader of LG Stylo 3 Plus we are ready to flash TWRP (Custom Recovery).

We cannot root our Stylo 3 with stock recovery and after flashing TWRP rooting would be a one-click process. So without wasting time let’s do the needful.

Before moving ahead make sure that you know how to enter into the recovery mode. You should get a hang of it because after writing twrp recovery file in the fastboot mode we need to enter recovery mode in one go without fail else the whole process needs to be repeated. Go through this post to learn how to enter recovery mode on LG Stylo 3.

How to Flash TWRP on LG Stylo 3 Plus

Let’s begin by downloading the necessary files first –

The first one is Minimal ADB & Fastboot – This must be already installed on your PC if you followed the bootloader unlocking tutorial. Download the setup file from below link and install it on your PC. Thanks to shimp208@xda for making this awesome tool.

The second file is no-verity-opt-encrypt-6.0.zip file. After booting into TWRP for the first time we’ve to flash this file else stock recovery would replace TWRP on next boot. Download the file from below link

The last file is the custom recovery file which we’re going to flash in the fastboot mode. Thanks to messi2050@xda for making TWRP for LG Stylo3 Plus.

Download and save this file as well as the previously downloaded files on your computer

NOTE:  To flash a 64-bit Custom ROM on LG Stylo 3 Plus, such as AOKP and Incipient OS, 64-bit TWRP needs to be installed.

The download link for 64-bit TWRP for Stylo 3 Plus is as follows –

You can go ahead with the 32-bit TWRP installation as of now, and can flash 64-bit TWRP later on as and when required for flashing 64-bit Custom ROM.

STEP 1: Copying TWRP recovery file to Minimal ADB & Fastboot Folder

You can see I’ve saved the downloaded files in the same folder as visible in the screenshot above.

Let’s install Minimal ADB and Fastboot if not installed yet.

Finish installation but there no need to launch the program as of now.

Rename the downloaded TWRP custom recovery file to something easier.

I’ve renamed it as “recovery”.

Copy the “recovery” file. We need to paste this file into Minimal ADB and Fastboot folder in C: Drive or wherever you’ve installed Minimal ADB and Fastboot program.

NOTE: For Flashing 64bit Custom ROM’s such as AOKP and Incipient OS, 64bit TWRP is needed

I’ve installed Minimal ADB and Fastboot in Local Disk (C:).  Open C: Drive on your computer.

Double Click on Program Files folder to open it.

Look for “Minimal ADB and Fastboot” folder and open it.

Paste the copied “recovery” file in this folder.

Click on “Continue” to provide administrator permission.

Now that the TWRP recovery file is copied to Minimal ADB and Fastboot folder, Let’s proceed to the second step.

STEP 2: Writing TWRP recovery file in Fastboot Mode

Run the Minimal ADB and Fastboot program.

It would launch cmd command prompt window as shown above.

Turn ON “USB Debugging” on your Stylo 3 and connect it to the computer via USB data cable.

Refer to this post if facing some issue – LG Stylo 3 Bootloader Unlock Tutorial

Type adb devices and hit Enter on your computer keyboard.

It should list your phone as shown above.

The connected adb device is visible as “LGMP450” i.e LG Stylo 3 Plus MetroPCS

Now we’ve to boot our Stylo 3 into fastboot mode to flash TWRP custom recovery file.

To enter fastboot mode type  adb reboot bootloader  and hit Enter

Now your phone must be in Fastboot Mode.

Type fastboot flash recovery recovery.img and hit enter

NOTE:  If you’ve downloaded 64-bit TWRP image for flashing, you need to copy it to “Minimal ADB & Fastboot” folder in the same manner as explained above.

As the 64-bit TWRP image file name is recovery64 the command line will change to fastboot flash recovery recovery64.img

The TWRP custom recovery is flashed in 0.755 seconds!

Let’s move ahead to the next step

STEP 3: Booting into TWRP and flashing no-verity-opt-encrypt.zip file

LG Stylo 3 Plus Bootloader Unlock Tutorial – MetroPCS MP450/T-Mobile TP450

Nowadays only a few of the carriers allow unlocking the bootloader and MetroPCS/T-Mobile is one of them.

Bootloader unlocking makes the rooting process easier and in turn, it lets us install various custom ROMs thus making the phone more useful. As Stylo 3 Plus belongs to MetroPCS/T-Mobile, the bootloader can be unlocked quite easily.

Let’s check out the process of unlocking the bootloader on Stylo 3 with the help of the following screenshots –

How to Unlock LG Stylo 3 Plus Bootloader MetroPCS MP450 / T-Mobile TP450

NOTE: Make sure to backup your phone data before unlocking the bootloader as it wipes the internal storage.

Step 1 – Turning ON USB Debugging within the Developer Options

Open Settings, and tap on the General Tab (If in Grid view)

Scroll down to the bottom of the page and click on “About Phone”

Now hit on “Software Info” to open it

On “Software Info” page we’ve to click “Build Number” 7 times to enable developer options.

Once done, a pop-up would appear saying “You are now a developer!”.

Go 2 steps back, you can see above “About phone” a new option is visible i.e “Developer Options”.

Open Developer Options and Turn ON USB Debugging as shown above.

Now tap on “Enable OEM Unlock” and accept the warning pop-up to Allow OEM unlocking.

By turning ON OEM unlock, Google’s Factory Reset Protection (FRP) gets disabled.

Now that we’ve enabled USB Debugging & OEM unlock we’re ready to connect our phone to PC for the installation of ADB Interface Driver.

Step 2: Installing ADB Interface Driver & Authorising the PC for USB Debugging

Connect your Stylo 3 Plus to the PC via USB Data Cable.

The USB Connection mode should be set as “Charging” or “File Transfer”.

Wait for the ADB Driver Installation to finish.

If the driver fails to install on its own, we’ve to install it manually.

Follow this tutorial for manual ADB driver installation.

Now that we’ve installed the ADB driver on our PC, we’ve to authorize our PC for USB Debugging

We’re going to use a simple program called “Minimal ADB & Fastboot” to write ADB command for bootloader unlocking.

You can download “Minimal ADB & Fastboot” from the below download link –

Install Minimal ADB & Fastboot program on your computer and run it.

It would launch the cmd command prompt window.

Now in cmd window, type adb devices as shown above and hit “Enter” key on your computer keyboard.

As soon as you would click “Enter”, a pop-up would appear on your phone screen asking permission to “Allow USB Debugging”

Tap “OK” to approve it.

You can see the connected phone is detected as LGMP450 but it’s “unauthorized”.

As we gave permission in the previous step to Allow USB Debugging, this time the adb devices command will show it as “authorized”

So again type adb devices and hit Enter.

Now we’ve successfully connected our Stylo 3 Plus LGMP450 in ADB mode and we’re ready to boot into Fastboot Mode for Bootloader Unlocking.

LG Stylo 3 Plus USB Debugging, Developer Options & OEM Unlock – How to Enable

LG Stylo 3 Plus is one of the few LG android phones with an unlockable bootloader. With an unlocked bootloader, we can easily root our Stylo 3 plus, flash a custom recovery (TWRP) & install a Custom ROM.

However, in order to unlock the bootloader, we need to Enable USB Debugging & OEM Unlock. Both of these options are found within the “Developer Options”. Let’s check out how to do this with the help of the following screenshots.

How to Enable Developer Options & USB Debugging on LG Stylo 3 Plus MetroPCS MP450 & T Mobile TP450

“Developer Options” is meant for developers and is kept hidden since Android Lollipop 5.1

We can unhide it quite easily on our Stylo 3 Plus.

Open Settings and tap on the “General” Tab. Now scroll down towards the bottom of the screen.

Click on “About Phone” to open it as shown above.

In “About Phone”, we’ve to open “Software Info”

You would notice the second last option is “Build Number”

We’ve to tap on Build Number 7 times to Enable Developer Options.

Once done a pop-up would appear for a moment “You are now a developer!”.

Now go 2 steps back to the Main settings page.

This time you would notice above “About Phone” a new option is visible i.e “Developer Options”.

Tap on it to open.  Accept the warning an proceed by clicking “OK”

Now scroll down to “USB Debugging” and tap on it to turn it ON.

Similarly, we’ve to turn ON “Enable OEM Unlock” in order to unlock the LG Stylo 3 Plus Bootloader.

Now that we’ve Enabled USB Debugging and OEM unlock we’re ready to unlock the Stylo 3 Plus Bootloader.

In this post, we’re going to download and install the latest Windows 10 (& MAC) drivers for LG Stylo 3 Plus MetroPCS MP450 & T-Mobile TP450.

While using the LG Stylo 3 Plus, every now and then we need to connect it to the computer and driver installation is necessary for various modes of USB connection.

We need to install LG MTP drivers for file transfer between phone & PC, LG ADB drivers for Fastboot Mode & LG Serial Port Driver for doing a Firmware update in the Download Mode.

First of all, we’re going to install the latest LG Mobile Driver using the setup file on our computer. You can download the file from the below link –

For Mac (LG Mobile Driver v5.4) follow the below Link –

Click on the Setup file “LGMobileDriver_WHQL_Ver_4.2.0.exe” to start the USB driver installation.

We’ve to complete the InstallShield wizard by following step by step instructions as shown above.

Wait for the installation to complete.

The driver has installed successfully.

Now we’re ready to connect our LG Stylo 3 Plus to the computer.

In this post, we’re going to install LG Stylo 3 drivers for 3 different modes of USB connection which are –

  1. ADB Driver installation when connected in Fastboot Mode
  2. USB Modem & Serial Port Driver Installation when connected in Download Mode
  3. MTP Driver installation when Stylo 3 is connected in File Transfer mode

Let’s start with the installation of ADB Interface Driver. Many users face issue while installing this driver.

1. LG Stylo 3 Plus ADB Interface Driver Installation for Fastboot Mode

First of all, we are going to Enable the Developer Options which is hidden by default.

Go to Settings < About Phone < Build Number

Tap 7 times on Build Number to unhide “Developer Options”

Now go 2 steps back.  Above “About Phone” you’ll find “Developer Options”.

Open “Developer Options”. Now scroll down and look for USB Debugging.

Turn it ON by accepting the warning pop-up.

Now connect your Stylo 3 Plus to the computer.

The USB connection mode can be set to “Charging” or “File Transfer”

Wait for the ADB Interface driver to install on its own.

LGE Mobile ADB Interface driver is installed successfully.

Download and install the “Minimal ADB and Fastboot” program on your computer.

As the name suggests, this program eliminates the need to download the whole Android SDK package to connect the phone in ADB mode.  Thanks to shimp208@xda for creating this awesome software.

Run Minimal ADB and Fastboot program. It would launch the cmd command prompt window.

If LG Stylo 3 Plus ADB Interface driver is not installed successfully we cannot write any command in the cmd  Window. It would display a message “waiting for device”

Type adb devices and hit Enter on your computer keyboard

You can see our phone model is detected as LGMP450 under the “List of devices attached”

However, you can notice the connected device is “unauthorized”

If at this point, you’ll look at your phone screen there must be a pop-up asking for authorization to Allow USB Debugging.

Tap “OK” to Allow USB Debugging.

Now again type adb devices and hit Enter

Now, the computer is authorized and we can write a command to boot the phone in the fastboot mode.

To enter fastboot, type adb reboot bootloader and hit Enter

Your Stylo 3 Plus must be now in Fastboot Mode a shown above.

Once again we’ve to install the ADB Interface Driver in the fastboot mode.

Wait for the driver to install.

You can see in Device Manager, the driver installation has failed.

If same is the case with you, then follow the below steps to manually install the ADB Interface Driver.

Open Device Manager.

Under “Other Devices” you’ll find “Android” with an exclamation mark

Right Click on it and select “Update Driver Software”

Now tap on “Browse my computer for driver software”

Click on “Let me pick from a list of device drivers on my computer”

You can see “ADB Interface” under the list of hardware devices, select it an click “Next”

Now select the Manufacturer i.e Google or Samsung

Even if we install the ADB interface driver from Samsung it would work.

I’ve selected Google Inc as shown above.

Under “Model” select “LGE Mobile Sooner Single ADB Interface” and click Next.

Accept the installation warning by tapping on “Yes”

The driver installation is successful.

The ADB Interface driver is now visible in the “Device Manager”.

Now we’re ready to unlock the LG Stylo 3 Plus Bootloader.
